About Us

River Oaks Golf Course & Event Center was established in 1979. Its picturesque location lies along the banks of the beautiful Tuolumne River in Ceres, CA.   The front nine sits atop the river bluff and totals 1,528 yards. The back nine sits below the river bluff along the Tuolumne River and plays 2,066 yards and has been redesigned by the Thornberry and Hall families and our veteran Head Golf Professional Greg N. Silva. There is new landscaping around the event center and golf shop, as well as the newly designed back nine courtesy of our Head Pro Greg!  The River Oaks property is truly unique and attracts patrons from hours away to enjoy its golf course and scenic views. Enjoying it for yourself is only a short drive away!

Course Updates

We recently used a new product that selectively eliminates disease prone grass (Poa Annua) from our greens.  We are excited and very confident that this will create better putting surfaces year-round, but the short term effect has a slightly negative impact.  Thank you so much for your patience during this time.  We can't wait to show you the new and improved River Oaks in the months to come!
